Los Niches Vineyard
Our Los Niches Vineyard has a mild Mediterranean-style climate. During the summer, the heat accumulated on the mountain slopes during the day is released at night, allowing cool, dense air to descend into the valleys, cooling the grapes growing near the mountains.
The soils at Los Niches are alluvial, due to the Lontué River that surrounds the vineyard, leaving different concentrations of stones, gravel, sand, silt, and clay. Where the Merlot grows, the soils are alluvial, terraced, and deep, with sandy loam and sand both on the surface and at depth, with good drainage.
Area under vine: 233 hectares.
Average rainfall: 600 mm per year.
